July Style Challenge
I’ve been doing this modest clothing style challenge over on Instagram. So far, I’ve kept up but we’ll see how the rest of July goes.
Symphony on the Prairie
We went to the local interactive history park, Connor Prairie, to hear the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra perform their annual Star Spangled Symphony. It was quite the event.
They performed the 1812 Overture, complete with cannons. I was pretty impressed, not gonna lie.
Fourth of July
One of the families we know from church hosts an annual Fourth of July party complete with a patriotic rosary, talent show and this year, even a trivia contest. One of the older boys from a fellow church family recited the famous Patrick Henry speech, complete with period costume. I love homeschoolers.
Since Branden was providing the sound system and had to stay for clean up, we were invited to stay the night after the party was over rather than make the hour and 20 min drive back at midnight or whenever things finally wrapped up.
And of course, someone got the bright idea to take advantage of the distance from the city and arrange for some target practice.
He doesn’t usually look this rugged. I think I can tolerate it once in a while, but I much prefer his polished persona.
In addition to this shotgun, I fired the 22 and a handgun. Shooting isn’t particularly my thing, I can take it or leave it. It’s nice to have the practice though in case the need ever arises.
I hate taking pictures of fireworks. Is that weird? For some reason, it just seems pointless to me. I know that millions of other people are capturing almost the exact same photo, have for years and will continue to for years to come.
I would much rather just enjoy the moment without a camera or phone in the way.
Capturing a specific event or taking a photo of yourself and the people around you is different because it’s unique and personal, but the same generic photos, I can do without.
This month’s wallpapers, from the Cuptakes app. Probably my most worthwhile app purchase ever. It updates every month, so if you need constant variety like me, there’s always something new!
