I feel like I need about 20 quick takes to cover everything that has been going on in the past few weeks. Life has just been a whirlwind of activity, constantly running from one thing to another with no time in between to sit, relax, eat, sleep, anything. I get up at 8am and I’m not done with class and work until around 9pm, leaving the 10pm-2am slot for homework or anything else besides class and work.
I would say that I don’t know how much longer I can keep it up, except that I do and it’s two weeks. Two blessed weeks that will simultaneously be the longest days of my entire life and yet be gone in a flash. Normally I think I would be dreading graduation because I don’t want to leave all my friends, but the fact that most of them are involved in my wedding somehow makes leaving school far easier. So, let’s cover some things that have been happening lately, shall we?
Senior Art Show
My first ever art show opened at the beginning of April and I had to do a presentation along with it. Between trying to figure out how to frame photographs for the first time, praying everything would get done on time, and preparing to give a talk in front of 20-30 people about my work, I was pretty insane for about a week. My frames arrived in a mountain of bubble wrap which helped the stress a bit. I love bubble wrap!
Miraculously, despite multiple issues, broken frames, and damaged tools, I completed everything on time and even survived my public speaking.
Now I just have to finish up a few additions to the project and get ready to move it over for the Department of Art’s Senior Thesis Show with several other senior art students. The only issue I’ve had with that part of the project is that the frames I bought originally are now discontinued so I can’t get ones that match exactly. Instead I bought the same color in a slightly more intricately designed frame.
The first half of my bridesmaid gifts came in! I’m so thrilled about the things I found for my girls and I’m sure they will love them too!
They came adorably packaged in these cute little boxes! I opened one to check on the thing (of course I’m not going to tell you what it is!) inside, but I wasn’t about to untie and retie all of those knots. Nope.
Easter kind of snuck up on me this year. I know, I know, it’s late this year, so I should have been more prepared, but you know, graduation, wedding, stuff like that, I kinda got distracted. It also happens to be my Goddaughter/Jr. Bridesmaid Fancy’s birthday as well as MOH Blondie’s birthday. Usually I’m pretty good about buying birthday gifts throughout the year so I’m prepared, but this year caught me off guard. Looks like I’m going to be going gift shopping this weekend! (Blondie, you didn’t see that. ;D)
FI and I picked up our apartment keys this week. It’s going to be amazing to have our own place, but the amount of work we need to do right now is completely overwhelming. Luckily, I am extremely blessed to have a guy who likes doing interior design and is actually more particular about it than I am. So he’s definitely taking the lead on the furnishing the apartment front right now.
My cousin and aunt hosted a wonderful bridal shower for me last weekend, and it was a great time. The decorations were incredibly adorable and it was great to have a chance to catch up with a few family members that I haven’t had a chance to talk to in a while.
Remember when I talked about the Cricut machine? I found out that my cousin has one and she used it to make this banner! It’s so adorable, I love it!
I found this Disney bracket through Facebook and it was really difficult to choose between some of them! I went with a combination of personal preference and estimation of overall popularity, but I went with the classics and chose Tale as Old as Time over Let It Go for the final.
My choir is performing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony next weekend, so I’ve been rehearsing non-stop Beethoven for a week and a half and now it’s constantly stuck in my head. The Ode to Joy theme is catchy as it is and when you add german text to it, it just won’t. go. away. Augh!
I feel slightly caught up now, but I’m sure there’s plenty more going on that I just can’t remember right now. Oh well, have a Happy Easter everyone!
