This week has just flown by. Spring Break last week seemed like the longest week, in a good way, because I had so much time to fill, and I got so much accomplished. It was like a week of Saturdays and it was amazing! Once I came back to school though, I still had a mountain of things to do and all that precious time was now filled up with classes and work and homework and all that fun stuff. Can I have another week of Saturdays?
Once I came back from break, I had to face the reality that March was more than half over and my first thesis show opened in just under three weeks, now less than two. Cue panic attack. I did manage to make progress on it this week, like getting my arrangement figured out and ordering frames, but I’m still kind of freaking out. Here’s a sneak peek of my postcard for the show.
I’m trying really hard not to just talk about all the wedding stuff that’s been going on lately, so I can save it for separate posts, but let me just say that there has been a flurry of activity this week and last, so stay tuned for some updates!
Sometimes I think I do my best thinking in the shower. It’s the perfect mindless activity that allows the mind to wander without guilt. If everyone could write down the things that they come up with in the shower, we could probably solve 90% of the world’s problems. I know I could get a heck of a lot more done if I could remember the things that I think of while in the shower.
We got approved for the apartment! Only a few verification forms to go and we’ll be all set for our mid-April move in date. Now we really have to think about all the furniture we own and start collecting the things that we’ll need! Luckily for me, the FI takes great pride in the aesthetic of his space and loves designing a good looking house. As long as I get to add my opinion every now and then, that’s one thing I’m glad to let him take the reins on.
I actually managed to wake up on time and make it to my 6am Pilates class with one of my roommates. It’s been a while since I did any sort of working out, so for the first day I was all like
Then the soreness set in the next day and I was all like
But hey, I’m still here right? And I’m even planning to do it again this week! But I am definitely buying myself a nice cute clean yoga mat so I don’t have to use the who-knows-where-they’ve-been mats they provide. Any suggestions?
Can I just say that TOMS shoes are not nearly as comfortable as they look? I wore two of my three new pairs (thanks to Zulily) last week and the little elastic piece rubbed the top of my foot so bad, I almost had to change shoes. TOMS wearers, is this something that eventually goes away? I know they’re supposed to stretch out, so I don’t think a bigger size would be any help.
