I think my defense mechanism against being stressed out about all the things that I have to do is to make up other things to do that I enjoy more so I can distract myself. This week is has been crazy with a new job, several projects due, full weekends, and worrying about wedding things that should have been done weeks ago.
So of course it makes sense to invent new craft projects and other things that I want to do. Yup, totally have time for that.
We picked a wedding cake baker!!!
Pretty sure I’m way more excited about this than I should be, but it’s been one of the most difficult decisions we’ve made so far. The process for choosing our other vendors was fairly simple in most cases, but we met with six bakers over about 4 months before finally deciding on one, the first one we met with, ironically.
So glad to have that crossed off the list.
Discovered a place called BaubleBar this week and found a coupon for 25% off earrings, so I purchased these beauties as potential wedding day earrings.
They’re the first ones I’ve seen that seem to fit my style, so I figured it was worth a shot. Earrings are tough since the actual in-person size is hard to judge from a photo, but they have a free returns policy so I can always send them back.
I swear we have encountered every single season in the last 24 hours.
First we get nice spring temperatures in the 40s which starts melting the gigantic piles of snow every and making a river out of the alley behind my house, then we get massive thunderstorms last night with tornado watches and mass panic (it wasn’t that bad actually), then I wake up to a real life actual blizzard going on outside, but the snow stops and the sun comes out by the time I leave my first class!
Indiana, this is the kind of crap that gets you a reputation for crazy weather.
The newest one I’ve found is the cover from Christina Bianco who not only sings it as herself, but shows us what it would sound like sung by a few other great artists as well.
She also does an impression of Total Eclipse of the Heart.
Since we’ll be honeymoon in Cancun, and I was blessed with skin that goes straight from porcelain pale to lobster red with no in between, I’m looking for things that can help me enjoy the sun without negative effects.
First thing on the list is a sun hat.
I want something that fits the beach theme, but is simple enough still be sophisticated. And it has to pack well.
This crazy lady over at Conversion Diary decided that this week would be a good time to do a post every single day and apparently I’m crazy enough to go along with it. I suppose I already have weekly posts for Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so I only have to add three more to keep up. We’ll see how it goes.
Linking up with Jen!
