Time for Seven Quick Takes! This is the catch up edition…its been a busy week/weekend so I’m just going to catch up on a few of the things I’ve been doing lately!
1. Photo Shoots
This semester I’m only working on one photo project, my senior thesis final art photography show exhibition project thing. All of the above. It’s kind of a big deal. But it’s nice to only have one concept to think about at a time and to have the time to approach it from different angles and in different ways. I’m working with couples and how love is represented. At the end of the semester, I’ll be having a big exhibition with a reception and public presentation and everything! It’s kind of a big deal.
2. Big sports events that I care nominally about.
I know this is sort of old news, but how about that Super Bowl?? Man, was that disappointing! I was rooting for the Broncos, solely for Peyton Manning’s sake, and it was brutal. The commercials weren’t even decent enough to make up for it either. Rough game all around.
3. Use ALL the Groupons!
I have several Groupons expiring this month, so I’ve been trying to use them all up and get my full value out of them. One was bubble tea for four at Tea Buds Brewing Co in Carmel. This is the downtown/old Carmel and it’s absolutely charming. I had originally intended to bring my Muncie bridesmaids along, or my roommates, but they were all unavailable. So I took my mom, sister (BM Classy) and aunt with me. We all had a great time and the bubble tea was delicious! Highly recommended for a girls day out!
Well, actually I haven’t been doing enough homework. I try to be a good girl and do my homework first before the fun things like writing blog posts. But then I just end up procrastinating for hours and accomplishing nothing. Maybe if I wrote blog posts first, I would feel productive and therefore more motivated to do my homework!
at the Boys and Girls Club! Or trying to anyway. The job I applied for and got was a Data/Media Assistant, but the executive director who is my supervisor and responsible for training me in that position went on a two week vacation the day after I got hired. So for two weeks I’m just kind of hanging out, getting to know people, learning how they do things, etc. I’m kinda bored, but I appreciate getting to ease into things. At this point, it’s a paycheck, which is more than I had a week ago, so I am not complaining!
6. Wedding Planning
We had three more cake appointments last weekend and STILL haven’t booked a baker. It should be this difficult, but for some reason, it’s just not clicking. Cakes are expensive, yo! So do we settle a little and save 25%? Or do we just go for the one we like the best? (= more expensive) I know God has the perfect solution out there somewhere, I just wish He could be a little quicker in revealing it. 😛
7. Dreaming of Babies
I’ve been hit with baby fever crazy hard lately. In my saner moments, I say that I would like at least a few months to get settled into a new house, new job, new marriage before dealing with being a new mom and I don’t think that is unreasonable. However, there are moments when I imagine my (soon-to-be) husband with an infant and well…the absolute heartwarming cuteness of it all makes me a little crazy.
Well if that isn’t a basic overview of my entire life right now: work, homework, photos, wedding plans, and babies. Sounds about right!
