I thought finding my wedding shoes would be a lot easier than finding my wedding dress because come on, the shoes are way less important than the dress, right? Thing is, there are just as many options for shoes as there are for dresses, but this time, it’s not something you’ve spent your whole life thinking about!
When I started looking into shoes, I had a few things to decide. The first one was if I wanted to get a pair of shoes that I would wear again or one to wear only on the wedding day and keep as a keepsake. This was important because if I wanted to wear them again, I would look for something silver or white to maximize rewearability. But if I kept them as a keepsake, I could go with something more colorful or unique.
I ended up deciding to go with a pair of blue shoes to use them as my ‘something blue’, have my bridesmaids write messages on the bottoms for the wedding day and then save them as a keepsake instead of wearing them again after the wedding. I also wanted something that had some bling and sparkle, but no lace since I have lots of lace on my dress, not too much structure, an open toe, and a decent sized heel, because I’m a shortie.
Now that I had that all decided, I could actually start looking for a pair of shoes! I looked through pages of shoes online, but nothing seemed to be right.
Finally, during a random trip through Nordstrom, a pair of gorgeous silver pumps caught my eye, in addition to the gigantic CLEARANCE sign above them, and I just had to try them on. The bling was amazing and I had to ask if they came in blue. They did, but they didn’t have them in the store, only online.

So, I ordered them in my size, with the idea in mind that colors on the internet don’t always show up the same way in person and that I could always return them. When they arrived, I tried them on, I loved them and the sparkle, but I decided that the color was just a bit too bright for our muted navy, grey and sage color palette. So the search continued.
The next pair I found was from DSW. The color looked perfect, plus it had a strap which I thought might be nice to give me some extra support since I’ll be wearing them all day long. But the biggest thing? They were a full $50 cheaper than the first pair and I had a $20 off coupon for DSW thanks to MOH Blondie.
Sadly, when they arrived, the size 6 that I ordered was too big and my foot was sliding around in the shoe. Plus, after seeing the gorgeous crystal decorations on the Glint shoe, the glass/plastic decorations looked really cheap to me. So, back they went. But not before I ordered three new possible shoes and waited for the mailman to bring me my beauties!
