*This is a continuation of my series of wedding day recaps! If you missed the first few posts, check them out here, intro, hair & makeup, getting ready, guys getting ready, bride & groom gifts, bridal party, and ceremony part 1, before continuing on!*
After the entrance, we proceeded with the wedding rite. We were married at a traditional Latin Mass, and they arrange a nuptial Mass differently than an English Mass would. At an English Nuptial Mass, the wedding rite happens after the sermon, in the middle of the Mass, whereas at a Latin Nuptial Mass, the wedding rite happens immediately at the beginning of the Mass, before continuing on with anything else, which I think is a neat way of doing it!
After the opening blessing, the wedding rite proceeds with the consent and exchange of vows.
Then the blessing and exchanging of the rings.
And with that, we are married! Now the ceremony proceeds with a Traditional Latin Mass. We were married on a Sunday, so we had the typical readings for that Sunday, rather than the readings for a Nuptial Mass.
