Hi everyone! So things got a little crazy last week and I decided to take a week off to get some things sorted out, but now I have a ton of awesome things to show you and I’m so excited! I’m hoping to get a post up every day this week to catch up with so many of the things I have going on. Things are finally getting rolling with wedding planning, so I have a few wedding posts in the works as well!
So today I have February’s Sample Society box to show you. You can check out January’s box and a more detailed description of the service here.
Sample Society just recently changed their packaging so that it opens on the short side instead of the long side. I’m sure they had a good reason for doing so, but it couldn’t have been easier opening. Before, the cardboard covering would just open up and unwrap from the box, now you have to somehow get the box out by shaking or pulling it and so far, it hasn’t come out easily.
Another thing to note about SS packaging is that they use these black paper shreds to cushion the products. I’m guessing it works, since I’ve never received a broken product, but the paper leaves little black residue over all of the samples. Minor issues, but I do find myself having to clean them off when I first open the box.
They sent a good mix of haircare, skincare and makeup products this time. I always love getting a box that has a little bit of everything. And no perfume samples! One thing that SS has over Birchbox is that Birchbox almost ALWAYS sends me a tiny perfume vial as one of my samples.
LaRocca Skincare Hibiscus Cream Cleanser with AHA.
This is a creamy exfoliating cleanser that is supposed to rid the skin of impurities. It’s a pretty small sample unfortunately, so I hope I can get enough out to try it. Full size $36
Immunocologie Treatment Créme Venomax
Perfect for using right after the LaRocca cleanser, this is a thick and creamy moisturizer with skin brightening benefits. Full size $275
Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Mousse
Thickening and volumizing mousse for getting that extra lift! Full size $23
Exude Lipstick Gloss in Scarlet Red
This is an interesting new product that I first heard about a few months ago. The lipstick is housed inside a plastic casing and ‘exuded’ through a hole in the top. I like the idea of not having the chance of smashing the lipstick against something and ruining it so that’s nice. I assumed it would be less of a mess, but it appears that mine somewhat leaked out in transit so that idea might be wiped away. The packaging is nice and sturdy though, with a nice metal case and cap that clicks on. Full size $29
Maya Water Facial Mist
The only other facial mist I’ve used is All-Nighter from Urban Decay, which does not claim to have any skin-renewing benefits, so I’m excited to have a chance to try a new one! Full size: $34
Hope you all enjoyed this and I promise I will be more responsible with posting on time!
