I can’t believe it’s almost September already. It seems like I was just saying how quickly July was flying by! I can’t say that I’m sad to see August go, I am so ready for some cooler temperatures.
#1 I hit Bath and Body Works this week to pick up a few of their new fall candle scents and I can’t wait for fall so I can start filling my house with the scent of Pumpkin Caramel Latte and Apple Ale. Yum!
#2 Last weekend I went back to Indy for a few days to get my bridesmaids measured for their dresses. Now the only dresses I have to worry about are my jr. bridesmaid and the mothers dresses.
#3 Also last weekend we celebrated my youngest sister’s 6th birthday and my aunt/Godmother and uncle’s 25th wedding anniversary. Big families mean that there is always something to celebrate! It also happened to be the same weekend as an annual homeschoolers party hosted by some friends of my family. This certainly sets the bar for busiest weekend of the semester.
#4 I’m getting a little more into my classes now that it’s been a week. Started off with a severe case of senioritis and absolutely no motivation, but now that I’m a little more settled into my house, I’m feeling a bit more energetic.
#5 I got a job through the work/study program so I’ll be working at a day care three days a week super early in the morning. About halfway through the semester, I’ll probably regret agreeing to work these hours, but at this point, my schedule is so tight, I’m just glad I found a place that had hours I can work.
#6 I broke down and bought myself a backpack. My old one busted last semester and lost all four of its zippers within about 2 weeks. I thought I might be able to get away with just using a tote bag this year and avoid spending money on a backpack I’m only gonna use for a few more months, but being off campus means riding my bike and taking my lunch, which means a tote bag just won’t work. So I found one and the first day I got it, I was so happy I did!
#7 My photo classes this semester are really fascinating. In my studio class, I’m shooting with a big old large format camera that uses 4×5 film. It takes amazing photos. It’s also ridiculously expensive. After spending $125 on 100 sheets of film, I feel like I might as well be shooting with dollar bills! Paper isn’t much better. I’m printing digitally in my color class though, which is much less expensive.
Have an awesome weekend everyone!
