(Note: This post was written on Friday, using my new wordpress for iPad app, and I was unaware that it was being saved as a draft and not a published post. Oops!)
Well, this week has been slightly less eventful than past weeks, not as much going on, though time still flies by much faster than I want it to. I’m finding that writing these posts is helping me to actually remember the things I do during the week because it forces me to actually think back and remember what I did, which is not something that I did often before.
1. Wedding Hair and Makeup
This week I’ve been researching hair salons and makeup artists for the wedding. I’m finding that it is surprisingly difficult to compare different places because of the wide variety of options they offer. Comparing going to a salon to having them come to us, whether they include a hair trial or charge an extra fee… It’s all a lot to compare and I’m nowhere close to making a decision yet. Oy!
2. Lovely Latin Polyphony
My sister and I were invited to sing at a Traditional Latin Mass held at a different parish than the one we usually attend, so we have been rehearsing various polyphonic Mass parts and hymns for this Mass. I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve truly missed choral singing since I took a break from school choir last year and this is the perfect little group. It is small and everyone blends really well. Small groups are my favorite for some reason, I’m not sure why!
3. Engaged Couple Double Dates
Prince Charming and I went on a double date with another engaged couple this week. They are also getting married next year at the same church we are, so it seemed like a good idea to get to know them a bit more. We visited a bar/restaurant downtown and talked for several hours. I’m so happy to have the chance to get to know more young couples who live somewhat close to us! We have so much in common, it was a wonderful evening getting to know them a little bit better.
My sister asked me to take her to Joann Fabrics this week so she could pick up some supplies for a craft project. I of course could not resist the combination of crafting supplies and clearance sales, so I picked up a few more materials for the never ending scrapbook I am making of my high school and college life. I also grabbed a few wedding related stickers and stamps for future DIY projects and now I just want to dive in to some crafting projects.
5. Shabby Apple dresses
Shabby Apple had a sale this week of 20% for the summer and also a ‘buy 2 get one free’ sale that I simply couldn’t resist. So I bought a few dresses that were on clearance and I will be getting a ‘mystery’ dress for free! I’m not usually one for ordering things that I can’t return, but I love most of their clothes and I’m sure I can pass it along to someone else if I don’t. Included in my order was a white cotton dress I might save to wear the day after the wedding. Everything seems to be wedding related these days!
6. Children’s Museum
I’m taking my nannykins to the Children’s Museum and waterpark sometime in the next few weeks, so that should be interesting. We’ll most likely be skipping nap or at least delaying it for a while so we might encounter some temper tantrums. I’ll pray that they get really good sleep the night before and take along some fruit snacks (the miracle tantrum cure).
7. Summer heat
The temperatures here have been getting into the 90s lately, which is pretty high for us, so outdoor activities have been greatly reduced. It’s just too dang hot to be outside for more than half an hour or so. Even my normally air-conditioning opposed father broke down and turned on the AC.
