I recently had a chance to try my hand at some newborn photography for some friends we know from college. It was a learning curve, but I had a blast doing it!
Isn’t she a cutie?
I’m proud of myself for going beyond the first “dishes sitting piled in the sink like always” image that popped into my head for this theme and actually choosing a dish that has some meaning to it.
This mug came from my parents house, it was always my favorite mug when I younger, and I took it when I left for college. I’ve always seen it as a sort of metaphor for my own personality. It’s pretty and girly with roses on it, but it has a few flaws here and there and it leans to one side, can’t even stand up straight. This became appropriate when I found out that I have one leg shorter than the other by just a bit.
Since coming to college, it has been damaged even more, and now has a hairline crack down the side that ever so slightly drips, so it isn’t as functional as it was previously. Still, I like to keep it around as a reminder that we all have a few flaws here and there.

Here it is Tuesday and I’m just now getting around to putting up last week’s Theme Thursday post. I bet my roommates would have been happier if I just decided to forget about this one, but I said I was going to keep up with it and by golly I’m going to!
So without further ado, for the theme of Catching People Unawares, I present two of my roomies! This is what happens when it’s -30 wind chill outside. We all wish we could spend our time just curled up underneath a blanket rather than going to class and other activities that require actual motivation and effort! Sadly, that is not the case so we bundle up and trudge off to campus after all.
Linking up with Cari over at Clan Donaldson!
So this week’s Theme Thursday is Craft! I wish I had a recently completed craft to show, but I haven’t managed to accomplish any crafts for a while. Instead I have a picture of my traveling crafting crate. This is the box of all the craft supplies that I take with me when I go home or on a babysitting job. It’s currently in a bit of disarray but I’ll be sorting it out here soon as I get ready to start on my wedding DIY projects!
Happy New Year!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful 2013 so far. I’m sure everyone is thinking about New Year’s resolutions and so am I, but not the typical ‘eat better, exercise more’ resolutions that we all make and eventually break. I want to have some resolutions that I actually stick to and keep, so here’s my list of resolutions for 2013.
